GENERAL ELECTION - TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2007
  • The Virginia General Assembly (State Senate and House of Delegates) and all Fairfax County offices will be contested in this election.
  • You must vote at the local precinct where your are registered to vote.
  • The polls will be open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
  • You must bring a photo ID to the polls as Virginia State law requires each voter to show an official identification (e.g., Virginia Voter Registration Card, Driver's License, Government issued ID, etc.). A voter who fails to bring acceptable ID to the polls may still vote after signing, under oath, an Affirmation of Identity, which is the voter's certification in writing that the name and address information provided to the election officials at the polling place is correct. This is commonly called voting with a Provisional Ballot.

  • call the Fairfax County Electoral Board at 703-222-0776.
VOTER REGISTRATION
  • Obtain the Virginia Voter Registration Form. Print out the form, fill it out, and mail to your appropriate jurisdiction.
  • If you are not certain if you are a registered voter you may call the General Registar of Fairfax County at 703-222-0766 to verify your status.
  • If you are not currently registered, you may go to the Fairfax County Electoral Board website Register to Vote to obtain registration information and requirements.
  • To be eligible to vote in the November 6, 2007 election, you must be registered in person or have your mailed application postmarked by October 9, 2007.
  • If you have changed your name or address, the law requires you to notify your local voter registration office (Fairfax County General Registrar at 703-222-0776) to make the changes before the registration books close for the next election.
