Senator Ken Cuccinelli Dominates in fundraising, Shannon sputtering

Cuccinelli leads in fundraising in 3rd consecutive report.

Richmond — For the 3rd consecutive reporting period since the Republican Convention in May, GOP State Senator Ken Cuccinelli has exceeded Democrat Steve Shannon in publically released fundraising numbers. For the period ending September 30, Ken Cuccinelli reported raising $675,000 in a 30 day period. During that same period, Shannon reported raising just $531,000. When you remove contributions each received from their respective national political parties, the Cuccinelli for Attorney General campaign raised $475,000 to Steve Shannon's $306,000, a difference of nearly 50%.

"For the third fundraising period in a row, Ken Cuccinelli has outraised Steve Shannon," said Chris LaCivita, Cuccinelli's campaign consultant. "This is a direct result of ordinary people and small businesses responding to Ken's positive message and the clear differences between the two candidates for Attorney General," LaCivita concluded.

The period covered is from September 1st through September 30th. Complete campaign finance numbers are available at www.VPAP.org.
