Richmond – Ken Cuccinelli today unveiled his K-12 Education Plan: Putting Our Kids First at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School in Richmond.
“It’s not good enough if the children who live in the right zip code are excelling in the classroom and moving on to college and graduate schools, while families trapped within a low income community have a mediocre education at best and a failing school at worst,” said Ken Cuccinelli. “We need to implement an education plan based on the idea that every Virginia child deserves a high-quality education—no matter where they live. I believe one of the most important things we can do to make sure Virginia remains one of the best places to start a business or raise a family is to make sure that all of our students can attend a good school with highly motivated teachers.”
Cuccinelli’s plan focuses on giving every child the opportunity to succeed, regardless of where they grew up, level of income, or the color of their skin. By empowering parents, supporting teachers, increasing opportunity to attend a quality school, and implementing tools to keep schools accountable, we can ensure our children receive the education they deserve.
