Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has called on Bob Filner to resign. And the Democrat National Committee is set to vote on a resolution calling for the same. It’s time for Terry McAuliffe to break his silence.
The contrast in this race could not be clearer. Ken Cuccinelli has spent his entire adult life combating sexual assault and other violent crimes against women. At UVA, Ken started a first-of-its kind, peer-to-peer sexual assault awareness network that still exists today. As Attorney General, his office has made historic progress against human trafficking–when young women and girls are forced into deplorable servitude.
On the other side of this race, Terry McAuliffe hasn’t even made a peep about the San Diego Mayor accused of making unwanted sexual advances towards sixteen women, including his employees and a great grandmother. Similarly, in 2011, when Anthony Weiner made a mockery of his office, McAuliffe refused to call for his resignation as well.
Terry McAuliffe shouldn’t wait for President Obama to speak out against Bob Filner. He should do the right thing now.
Leadership doesn’t have to wait until November 5th.

McAULIFFE: “First of all…” HOST: “Tim Kaine says he should.” McAULIFFE: “I don’t like to get into peoples personal lives and all of that…” (Reston Impact w/ John Lovaas, 2011; youtube.com, Uploaded 5/31/13)
