As a legislator, Ken Cuccinelli has made the interests of working families his top priority by fighting for better roads, low taxes and better education funding for Fairfax. He believes that caring for those who are unable to care for themselves should be a high government priority. He worked with local advocacy groups to increase Virginia funds available to support individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities in Northern Virginia. Ken also has a strong record of supporting our police officers as they protect our communities. In 2007, his successful eminent domain legislation stopped local and state governments from taking private homes and businesses for developers’ projects instead of true public uses.

Ken has also been a leading voice for protecting and advancing foundational principles in the Virginia State Senate. He has led the fight to defend constitutional rights, stop tax increases, protect life and families, and keep Virginia a low-regulation and pro-business state.
